The City of Kirkwood invites community members to attend an open-house style grand opening of the iconic Kirkwood Performing Arts Center (KPAC) located at 210 E. Monroe on Friday July 16, 2021 from 4-10pm. The dedication of this facility will take place that evening at the Performing Arts Center inside the building on the main stage.
Designed with flexibility in mind, the Kirkwood Performing Arts Center has the capability to support a variety of events and performances. Drop in to enjoy hourly tours, light refreshments, live music and on-stage performances in the 525 Seat Ross Family Theater. KPAC Tours will be by RSVP only. Located in the heart of downtown Kirkwood the performing arts center is a 38,000 square foot, state-of-the-art, facility completed with designs from Jacobs AIA and Shuler Shook Theater Consulting. BSI Constructors provided construction management and Hercules Construction Management served as Owner’s Representative for this project. Acoustic and sound consultation provided by Threshold Acoustics and Intelligent Lighting Creations.
Principal performance organizations include STAGES St. Louis, Kirkwood Theatre Guild and Kirkwood Youth Theatre. Both Stages and Kirkwood Theatre Guild have contributed financially to the development of the Center and will anchor its performance calendar. Future offerings will include Kirkwood Youth Theater, Concerts, Opera, Dance and Art Exhibits.
